Need a Mead Kit? Look No Further

Here you will find a listing of our favorite mead kits. Whether you’re brand new and looking for a kit that has everything you need to get up and running, or you’re an old pro who’s just looking for a new recipe to try we have a little bit of everything so you can find the mead kit you are looking for.

I’m looking for…

Starter Kits

1 Gallon Mead Kit

This is a great introductory kit if you’re curious about making mead but don’t have the money to go for a full homebrewing set up. You also get Ken Schramm’s book “The Compleat Meadmaker” which is a must buy for mead makers of any level and contains many excellent mead recipes. Get all the equipment to make your first batch of mead for less than the cost of a nice dinner.

This kit includes:
2 gallon plastic fermenter w/drilled lid
1 gallon glass jug secondary fermenter
Drilled universal stopper
One 3-piece airlock
3/8″ mini auto-siphon
5 feet of 3/8″ siphon hose
100 Campden Tablets
Yeast Nutrient
Extra Fine Nylon Bag (Drawstring)

5 Gallon Mead Kit

This kit not only produces larger batches of mead but also has a lot more equipment than the above 1 gallon kit.

While the above 1 gallon kit is perfect for someone who wants a very simple process to follow this 5 gallon mead kit gives the opportunity to experiment a little more. The additional equipment like the hydrometer and the corker are absolute musts if you decide you want to dive deeper into the craft.

This kit contains:

7.9 gallon plastic fermenter w/drilled lid and stopper
5 gallon plastic carboy secondary fermenter
Medium universal stopper
Two 3-piece airlocks
Plastic Bucket Opener
Triple scale hydrometer
3/8″ standard auto-siphon
Auto-siphon Clip (3/8″)
6 feet of 3/8″ siphon hose
Spring loaded bottle filler
Double-lever corker
28″ Plastic Spoon
30 wine corks
Cleaner/sanitizer
Complete Mead Making book
Toll-Free Technical Support

There is also a second option that is essentially the same kit but instead comes with a glass carboy for $159.99. Personally, we prefer a plastic secondary as it is much lighter and also you don’t have to worry about accidentally breaking it.
